Not normally one for writing product reviews on here, but felt I had to share our positive views about this one.

We've had one of these monitors since our baby boy was born - he's nearly 10 months now.

The alarm has gone off once previously, in the morning when he'd rolled up to the other end of his cot for a play. Obviously we panicked when we heard the alarm but were relieved the monitor had done its job, even though nothing bad would have happened if we hadn't had the monitor.

However, last night while we were getting ready for bed the alarm went off again. We were in his room about 2 seconds later but this time he wasn't playing, he had stopped breathing. We gave him a nudge to rouse him and fortunately he started breathing again and is absolutely fine.

He may well have started breathing again anyway, but given the unthinkable consequences if he hadn't I cannot recommend this product highly enough. It's not just the peace of mind...

Read and compare CAREFULLY before you buy!, 13 Jan. 2015

Pros:

I bought 2 of these (AC300) and tested them, baby out of bed, alarm goes off, baby back in bed, no alarm (also tested with my hand slightly moving on bed), so I guess it works!

Cons:

Installation manual is next to useless.. Seriously asking you to go out and buy a hardboard 6mm thick??? Luckily the beds I have already have hardboards..

Sensitivity setting is now set to 0.5 (anything higher gives constant false alarms).

No mains power, it should be stated much more clearly.

No volume control for alarm, if you r in a different room u might not hear it..

What's the point of the tick function again, other than making you go crazy that is?

Cable is shorter than it should be.

For just 5 quid extra u can buy the ac401 model, which seems like a much better deal..

well, it was a heisty purchase..

UPDATE: Having said all the above, and tested for 6 months and still going, this truly gives piece of mind. The only real...
