This is by far the most effective tool I have found for clearing out the ear canal. I have suffered from frustrating occasional deafness in one ear that has been recurring for a few years now. I started by loosening the wax with some drops of a 9% hydrogen peroxide solution (available from pharmacies) and left my head on one side while it fizzed and bubbled for half an hour or so. Then a single jet of lukewarm water from this device completely cleared my ear, to my immense reliefThe problem with other products is that they produce little more than a dribble of water, which is insufficient to mechanically clear out any problematic amount of ear wax. This simple item is capable of creating quite a vigourous jet of water, to the extent that I advise using only gentle pressure on the bulb as, once the earwax is out of the way, spraying the sensitive unprotected eardrum can be quite painful
