AmaWrap Stretchy Baby Wrap Sling / Carrier (Blue) is available in Baby Slings

An ideal first wrap for all babies! Wearing baby in the sling allows the baby to hear the parent's heartbeat, mimicking the sounds baby heard in the womb, proven to calm baby. Research has also proven that preterm babies, when carried, grow at a faster rate than ones who were not. See www.amawrap.com for information on carrying baby in the sling, and research about benefits. Dimensions 5m by 50cm. Comes with a storage pouch and instructions on how to wrap, and you are also welcome to go to the above website for video tutorials. Made in the UK. Unlike conventional carriers the weight is distributed evenly over your shoulders, back and torso. This sling is ideal for parents with back problems or caesarian wounds, mums who want to breastfeed discreetly on the go, and parents who live in apartments. Colicky babies and babies suffering from reflux often benefit the most, as it allows them to be upright, aiding baby's digestion and preventing further painful regurgitation. Colicky babies also cry less as the contact serves as a gentle massage to the stomach. Imagine navigating around a crowded department store during the Christmas season with a pram or a portable car seat! Babywearing allows the parent the use of both his/her hands, whilst keeping baby out of harms way. The sling can also double up as a changing mat or blanket when away from home! Skin-to-skin contact with the parent has been scientifically proven to benefit not just the baby, in terms of bonding and attachment, but also the parent. For parents, it promotes attachement, improves parental confidence and for mothers, it stimulates breastmilk production and a natural tendency to care for and protect their child. A mother's oxytocin is also increased through physical contact with the baby, thus lowering the incidence of postpartum depression in the mother.

Used this constantly up to about 9kg. Really easy to put on (there's a YouTube video for instructions) and compact enough to throw in the bottom of the buggy or a bag. Washes well. Baby was very comfortable.
