A good solid waterproof protector for double beds., 15 Sept. 2015

It's always a good idea to use a mattress protector when you have an expensive mattress, so I was pleased to see that Amazon have added a waterproof protector to their excellent Amazon Basics range.

This mattress protector is for standard double beds (135 x 190 cm) and fitted well over the top of our bed using the 4 stretchy pieces of elastic (one each corner). I'm generally not a fan of the elastic approach as I find they move the sheet around too much, but after having tested this, the sheet has stayed where it was and felt firm but smooth still.

The material on the outside of the sheet is smooth and soft, too, and it's hard to believe that it's actually waterproof. In fact we didn't really want to test this out on our bed so we did a water test over the bath instead! Surprisingly, it does work.

Amazon Basics stuff has always been surprisingly good for the price and this mattress protector is no exception. While I'm still not a big fan of the...

Good mattress protector, 19 Oct. 2015

We bought this having had various waterproof mattress protectors before. It fits a standard size single mattress well and is discreet when a normal sheet is placed over the top. Some waterproof sheets can be a bit noisy, making a rustling sound whenever you move in bed but this is relatively quiet and unobtrusive. It washes well and dries quite quickly so can be back on the bed the following night. We've had problems with some cheap mattress protectors before where the backing has started to disintegrate after a time - not had this long enough yet to know whether that is going to be a problem, but initially we are happy with it and it seems a good quality 'basics' product.

This is perfect for protecting your mattress, 21 Sept. 2015

This is perfect for protecting your mattress. What I like about it is that it doesn't feel like a waterproof protector and will keep a mattress cleaner for longer. Fits nicely and does the job intended well.
