A complete WASTE OF MONEY and time, 29 July 2014

BUYER BEWARE!! Proceed with caution when buying this thermometer. A complete WASTE OF MONEY and time !!! at my cost!!!

When I received mine, took my temperature first, then looked on the thermometer and it was stuck on a reading of over 38 degrees. Then I shook it down. I tried this the following day and it was already stuck on that reading. I informed the distributor and sent it back. This was their response:

"This is just a message from VetUK to confirm that we have received and tested the thermometer that you returned to us as faulty. Upon testing, following the advice given on the box, we have found no fault with the thermometer and have found it to be in full working order.

We believe you may not have shook the galinstan column down in the correct way or sufficiently as advised on the packet.

If you would like us to reship the thermometer to you, please call us on 01845 591 040 to pay the 1.99 reshipping fee. Alternatively we can...

bulky and impossible to drop temp reading, 9 Nov. 2014

I bought this thermometer from VetnPet. First of all its not the slim one it shows on the picture. Regardless the size, once you take the temperature, it is IMPOSSIBLE to put it back to less than 35. I have been trying for the past two minutes to get it lower than 36•C or 98•F, but impossible... Stuck at 37.4. Wouldn't recommend buying it.

Easy to use, 4 Jun. 2014

I bought two old fashioned thermometers. This one and a Geratherm which was supposed to be the best! I found the Geratherm impossible to shake down at all. It would not budge at all. This one though shakes down every time. It does need quite a few firm shakes but it does do it! I liked the farenheit and celsius readings.I preferred the case with the Geratherm as it had a magnifying glass in one side which made reading the temperature a lot easier. I was lucky that this thermometer fitted into THAT case, so I just swapped the cases over.I am delighted with my purchase,
