This means that the shape of the head can be altered by any pressure, usually at the back of the head, giving the baby's head a flattened look. This condition is often called deformational plagiocephaly and can be prevented by using a gentle head support. Good pillow, but goes flat after some use!, 14 Jan. 2012

I noticed that my 3 month old baby was getting a flat spot on his head and bought a couple of other (much cheaper) pillows, none of which seemed to make any difference. This pillow is great - the baby stays put all night long, it appears to be comfortable, is soft and can be washed easily. Not sure whether it is solely due to the pillow, but my now 4 month old baby's head is looking much better and the flat spot is hardly noticeable! Will continue to use this pillow and chuck the other ones away....UPDATE - My baby is now 5 and a half months old and after using the pillow for over 2 months, it has gone very flat. Washing/drying it doesn't help. Although it is a good product, it is quite expensive and won't last you a very long time!

So so glad we bought this pillow as it really works. Bought it when my baby was 3 months old, he loved being on his back and hated being on his tummy. Never knew much about flathead as he's my 1st baby, so was distraught when I woke one morning and noticed his head was very flat. The pillow works instantly, within the 1st week I noticed a massive difference, also he is never on the back of his head unless we changing him, or he's sleeping (on his pillow). we've bought a carrier which he loves and we carry him and walk everywhere, as we are determined and are doing everything possible to get his head rounded. He is now 5 months and what a difference, his head is still not completely round but we are getting there. It looks 100 times better than before and people can't believe the difference!!! I bought this product after my baby had quite a severe flat spot at the side of her head at the age of 8 weeks. She developed it after continually lying with her head to the right no matter how much I moved her! The doctor referred her to see a consultant about it as it got so bad her ears looked different sizes and the side of her face looled flat! Whilst waiting for the appointment to come through I began to research the problem on the Internet and was even contemplating one of those helmets I was so worried. But I came across these pillows and thought I'd try this whilst waiting to the see consultant. She had her appointment this week and the difference is amazing. She is 5 months old now. The doctor took one look and wondered what I was worrying about. I did tell him about this pillow, and he said it is what they recommend for this situation.
