The best, safest, and most comfortable, soft structured carrier money can buy., 30 Jan. 2016

After owning the BabyBjörn One carrier for a year, and before that Ergo Baby Original and BabyBjörn Miracle, and after trying numerous soft structured carriers at Baby Wearing Libraries in two cities, and having a wife that is obsessed with wraps, I can categorically say that this is leagues ahead of other carriers in a large number of ways.

At £110, it is one of the more expensive carriers out there, putting it at about the same the Ergo Baby Original and a number of other leading brand carriers.

This carrier here can be used to carry your baby on your front, facing inward, from birth to 36 months (3.5 to 15 kg), front carry facing outward from 5 to 15 months, and back carry from 12 to 36 months.

Out of the box, it looks and feels like a really high quality and modern product. By comparison, the Ergo Baby looks and feels a bit old in its design, and the Miracle somewhere in between.

Excellent carrier but may not be the best for everyone, 20 Mar. 2014

We've been using an Ergo carrier, and it's excellent, but are impressed with the BabyBjorn. Whether it's worth the extra cost is another matter.

For ease of use, they're probably about equal (i.e. both quite tricky!).

For comfort, again there's not much in it and baby feels secure in both.

When it comes to versatility, they are rather different. Both can be used from birth but the Ergo needs a separate insert; they tend to swamp new-borns and it's quite difficult to check they're still breathing! The BabyBjorn offers three front-carrying positions, the Ergo only one, but the Ergo also offers a hip position which is very useful. The Ergo claims it can be used with children up to 4 years or 18 kgs, the BabyBjorn only 3 years; whether you'd want to put an 18kg baby in a carrier is another matter. One small point - the Ergo has a very useful pocket built in.

Quality? They're both very good. Just beware counterfeits. If the price seems too good...

Neither me or my baby got on with this carrier. I found it too complicated and she found it to claustrophobic so I returned it. But you and your baby might like it, so I recommend going into a store that stocks carriers or to a sling meet to find one that suits you. We like the BabyBjorn Miracle.
