These kick mats are made of a firm, quality, tough material which smell fresh (not rubbery) and the sides have a beading to retain their shape. To fit these protectors firstly the elasticised bottom strap/loop slides down over the vertical seat back (all the way to the bottom) then the mat can be slid up into place and the top Velcro straps fasten to the head rests. The protectors can be fitted high on the back of the seat or lower down as required. These work very well and can be secured firmly to stay in place despite the best efforts of little toddler shoes. They cover about 98% of the width on a VW Mk4 Golf seat which is adequate. (The very edges of the seat and headrest are still currently out of reach of little feet.) Backs of seats are therefore protected from little muddy kicking feet but it's still worth removing very muddy shoes. These protectors have proven to be great and they can also be put in the wash also. The price good and to top it all you get a pack of two, so...

Very good just one drawback!, 3 Feb. 2013
These arrived very promptly which was good as my new car did too and I was keen to keep little grandchildrens feet off it . One drawback however is that my seat belt is on the side of the front seat so sliding the cover over it I wonder if this compromises the safety .It would be better if this were a velcro fastener like the top fastener. Other wise it is sturdy enough ,fits the whole of the back seat and I like the option to wash it but have yet to see how it copes with that.One month on they are working well !!

After taking these out of the box, I was rather underwhelmed at how these looked, but that changed when I fitted them. Installation was very simple into a VW Touran. They provide good coverage over the back of the seat (not full width as there is @1cm of the seat still exposed at the left/right edges) and more importantly, they follow the contour of the seat, so don't flap around loosely at the bottom.
