I wouldn't recommend this for under 8 months as it is quite big. My daughter prefers the Tesco teethers at the moment, but we will be coming back to the Baby Einstein once she is a little bigger.

This is what I wanted a soother that I could put in the fridge to cool down but it's too big for my four month old daughter to grasp herself.

I bought this for a baby who started teething at 6 weeks and is therefore too young for pharmaceutical teething products, and really, if you can avoid pharmaceuticals no matter what age, so much the better.The rattle is bigger than I expected, but baby happily chews on it while mum holds it, and it really seems to soothe his gums. The package says the water used is distilled, and the gel containing the water seems robust. I bought two, one cools in the fridge while the other is in use.
