Do recommend them for narrow stairs, 29 July 2015

I have two of these stair gates and am about to buy a third one because they are so good, and because I have a three floors Victorian house.They are very secure which means that my grandchildren can't neither open them, nor pushed them off.Yes, one has to lift the gate a little in order to open it, but this is one of the things that makes it more secure.And yes, it takes extra time and some common sense to fit the plastic cups onto a moulded banister properly, as the plastic cups have a centred hole, I used screws and made small moulded wedges to fixed them to the wooden moulded banisters and to the skirting boards,And I am able to store them away after the little ones go.All in all a good Narrow Pressure Fit Safety Stair gate which I highly recommend!

Purchased 2 of these from another retailer but wanted to write a review here as I spent a lot of time researching and deliberating over safety gates. Reading the amazon reviews for this product I just could not decide if the safety gate was suitable or not due to lots of negativity about installation and how the gate opens. Let me just say, they took about 10mins in total to very easily fit and are solid as a rock. The fact that you have to lift the gate to open is good as it makes the gate more secure and is easy to do if fitted correctly. My 1 year old is now safely contained despite his best efforts at breaking out.All in all these gates are a neat and easy to install product at a good price.

Not as easy to fit securely as the Lindam pressure gates we used to have, but they do the job and are ideal if you have narrower than normal gaps that need gateing!Make sure you get the gaps on each side worked out in advance, as it saves a lot of fiddling with the pressure bolts that are designed to only unscrew/tighten so far!
