This little lock is a god-send!, 25 July 2012

I looked at numerous locks and finally decided on these. I am not sorry I did.

PROS

1. These work great for kitchen presses and the adhesive is very strong.

2. Should your little one manage to tear the adhesive off (mine did after picking repeatedly on one particular press every day for a month), fitting the two small wooden screws in place to re-secure the lock / latch takes less than 30 seconds.

3. The Lock and the latch fit together snugly and the magnet will work (in my case) through a 1.5cm solid wooden door.

4. There is no impact aesthetically as the lock and latch sit on the inside of the door with the magnet simply held against the door to release.

5. With the click of a button on the latch, the lock will not engage when the drawer is closed. This is great when the little ones are in bed and you require some presses to be unlocked.

CONS

1. The instructions are terrible and this can lead to all sorts of problems with locking...

Problem Solved, 27 July 2012

I usually do not write reviews and i am quite critical of the things in buy in Amazon but i think this one deserves a review.

I have a toddler at home that when bored at home just enjoys opening the cupboards in the kitchen and take everything out.

I am renting so I can't actually use any of the permanent gadgets and have to rely on stick on or clamps.

From £1.99 tp £10 I tried everything.

Clamps were either too short or too long not locking the doors or the internal locks would simply not glue in place or couldn't get them to align properly.

I had one last go because we have to constantly monitor the tasmanian devil in the kitchen.

I ordered these, without any faith.

Instalation is quite easy, the instruction are not very clear and not easy to follow but if you get the concept it is quite quick.

I cleaned the surface, put the locks in place as instructed, waited 24hrs.

GREAT! Im a childminder - i didnt want to spoil my nice new kitchen with screwing safetly locks on!! I have one under my sink for cleaning products and on my knife draws - tough adhesive and have worked very well over the last few months so far!!! No child has yet got in!!!!
