Definitely worth the money and effort!, 2 Dec. 2014

I have now bought 3 of these as gifts for friends and family and must say just how fantastic it looks when you get it right. The detail picked up from prints is nothing like you imagine it to be; each person I have given this to has said it's possibly the best baby present they have received!

It may seem a little costly, at nearly £50 but in comparison to what it will costs in stores at places like mothercare it is less than a third of the price. Also the satisfaction you get of making the moulds yourself is just great! And then painting them also.

Advice that I would give is:

**(as my sister inlaw did), make a mould of your own pinky first to understand how quick the cast sets.

**You definitely need at least one other person to help, however the first time we did this it took nearly 4 of us!

**Use tubs with low sides as opposed to the silly small plastics bags they give you as they just do not work and make the process so much more stressful than...

We bought this to do casts for our 8 week old. The casts came out near perfect but be prepared to use a lot of the alignate to do a couple of them. We used big containers to do the mould because we didn't want our baby's foot or hand to touch edge of container especially if he moved so actually could get about 3 casts not 6.Would recommend this- yes it's tricky but can be done well as long as you read instructions many times in advance and have everything prepared.
