The tagline for the Baldessarini line of fragrances is `Separates The Men From The Boys' and this sums up Baldessarini Eau de Cologne perfectly. Make no mistake, this isn't the kind of fragrance you're likely to smell on some post-pubescent pleb in a grotty nightclub, as it's completely lacking any of the sweet, pungently citric aromas that are so popular today.

Baldessarini Eau de Cologne is a hard scent to describe, simply because there aren't any overriding aromas in it. According to the Baldessarini website, the top notes are mandarin, bitter orange and green mint, the heart notes are patchouli, cumin and cloves, while the base notes are sandalwood, balsamic tones and musk. The sandalwood is certainly there, as is the mint and musk, but they're carefully balanced so that none of them overpower the fragrance. It may have mandarin and bitter orange, but they're not particularly evident; this is far from what I would call a citrus scent.

Not Hugo Boss anymore, but still smells the same!, 4 Nov. 2013

My favourite fragrance, not been able to buy it anywhere for about 3 years. Assume it's because Mr Baldessarini left Hugo Boss and took his trademark with him. This product is identical, same smell, same packaging etc as it always had, but it's no longer branded Hugo Boss. Doesn't make it any less appealing as far as I'm concerned!

This is a really lovely Cologne, it is my husbands favorite. It is great to be able to get it on line as it doesn't appear in shops now.
