This was purchased as an expensive treat after a particularly dreadful week at work. However, it's rapidly become one of my favourite hair accessories which I wear almost constantly. What's really lovely is that people often notice it and comment on it (even on days when my hair is otherwise in need of a bit of TLC).

I have very long hair, which is lovely and all but there are times (housework, in the office etc) I just want to completely tie up. This opens wide enough to grip my hair securely when it's been twisted into a rope and doubled. Each side is a piece of cast metal with adornments well attached, meaning the teeth don't bend and I'm not worried about them snapping off (as with plastic grips), and it has a really good, wide opening action. The edges of the teeth are clean and smooth, with no rough edges.

Beautiful. I have a lot of hair and cheaper plastic claw clamps can't cope with the weight. Really gorgeous design without being over the top. It is very comfortable to wear, they are substantial but not so heavy it pulls at my hair.
