. However, there are some very significant differences which are not in my opinion for the better.

Most of these internet based IP cameras have an on board web server which allows the user to connect directly to the camera on either from within the home network or via the internet. This camera is different and forces the user to connect via the Belkin website where the user must open an account. This makes it more simple to get the cameras up and running and make it easier to see their output but it does mean that if Belkin turn their servers off or decide to charge for access then the camera owner is left out in the cold.

Easy to setup but does require a re-start every few weeks, not that big a deal for me as I only switch it on if I'm going away for any length of time. Great iPhone app which I also have installed on my iPad. The motion detection was triggering the emails at the same time each day due to the way the light was coming into the room but after a couple of adjustments its been fine since. If my alarm has gone off it calls my mobile, then I can have a quick check on this camera to see that everything is okay - would highly recommend. Very slow to get the picture up on 3G however, but wifi and 4G is absolutely perfect.

This is very easy to set up, with stable software and useful streaming options. However, because of some software limitations, it is not particularly useful as a baby monitor and has limitations as a security camera.

The camera is so easy to set up that I had it up and running in about 5 minutes using my mobile. It has an ingenious setup mode where you connect directly with a wifi hotspot that it creates. From there you enter your setup information, such as your router wifi password etc, restart it in normal mode and off you go. The in-app options & website give you control over the camera streaming settings (Video size 640x480, 1-30fps, quality setting 1-5, rotation, audio on/off (default off), flicker rate 50/60Hz, night mode, sharing and email alert options).

Once it's setup, so long as you have an iPhone/pad, Android device or web browser (not Chrome though - for some reason the website doesn't work on Chrome) you can log in and watch your stream.
