Having tried many epilators over the years, none of them are ever going to be pain free but I was pleasantly surprised at how good this one is. I'm not going to repeat the technical bits because that is in the blurb above. The shape makes it comfortable to hold and the larger head means that you can cover a larger area and at least minimise the amount of discomfort. What I particularly like is the light on the front, just above the control switch. Even when using in bright light it is very easy to miss stragglers however this light is really bright and I found it so useful in highlighting stray hairs. It has 2 speeds although I only use the lower setting which I find works well for me.
This model doesn't come with a shaver head unfortunately, but you do get a facial brush which I use a lot and it does a very good job of cleaning off make up to leave your face feeling fresher. The facial brush needs 2 AA batteries (included).

I haven’t used an epilator for a few years, long enough that I anticipated any tolerance my skin had built up to the process would be long gone. As such, I expected that I would feel some discomfort when using this for the first time and was amazed to find that I didn’t feel a thing (on my legs). I had only tried to epilate underarms once in the past (too uncomfortable) but, buoyed by the lack of any discomfort on the legs, gave it a go. Okay, that was still a little bit uncomfortable but only a little bit and certainly not off putting in terms of doing it again.
Charging is via a 2-pin plug and takes about an hour for up to 40 minutes of cordless use. Seems pretty good and it is unlikely you’ll run out of charge, particularly if you follow the guidance to charge after every use.

I was sent this to try out as I am a member of the Savvy Circle. I was a little hesitant before trying this product as I have owned epilators in the past and found them to be too painful and ended up ditching them in favour of the good old fashioned razor blade. For the last few years my usual hair removal routine has consisted of shaving in the bath. Upon opening the package, I was delighted to note that the Braun epilator can be used wet or dry – so I decided to try it out in the bath, as usual. It took 1 hour to charge and apparently the battery lasts for up to 40 minutes. The first thing I noticed was the wide head of the epilator, which is great as it means that more hair can be removed at a time therefore saving on time and that the epilator is very comfortable to grip as it seems to fit perfectly in my hand.
