I have two epilators on the go. One is kept at home and one at work for last minute emergency shaves! This review is for the one I keep at work.

For me the most innovative function and the best selling point on this epilator is the addition of the smartlight. A little torch to illuminate the hairs that my poor eyesight would otherwise miss. Pure genius! The massaging rollers really do make the process a tad more easy but for beginners be aware that this is not the most comfortable of experiences when first attempting it! The speed personalisation is a little gadgety, it's just a fast and slow option really but useful nonetheless.

As I said earlier, I have been epilating for many years and can vouch for the claim that after a while there will be less regrowth and the hairs do become a lot finer. Another tip is to have a warm bath or shower before epilating. It seems to make the process a little easier. Also, afterwards I recommend the use of a non-perfumed...

Great Entry Level Epilator, 7 Jun. 2012

After waxing my legs for 25 years I've finally gotten fed-up of so many hairs breaking and being hairy again a week after a wax so I decided to try an epilator. After a bit of research on the web I decided to go with Braun and chose this one as I only intend to do my legs and didn't want to pay too much. My new epilator arrived this morning and I've done my lower legs, I have to say that I'm very impressed! It took a couple of passes over each strip but I'm now hairless with no evidence of any broken hairs so I'm delighted with the results!!! The process was painless and it's less messy than waxing (I used to be a Beauty Therapist so I have my own waxpot and do my own!) so I'm already a convert! As usual with Amazon the order arrived very quickly (I'm in Dublin) and I know that if I do have any issues that they'll be resolved quickly. Don't forget to order a shaver adaptor as the epilator comes with a two pin plug!

Great for Beginners, 21 May 2013

I've been using epilators for about a year now, but both of my previous ones have been Philips products and I've not used them too often because they hurt too much. This Braun epilator has been a revelation! Unlike the Philips' ones (whose rolling heads are all tweezers) there are gaps between the tweezing sections on this. So instead of a constant pull-pull-tweak jabbing pain, you get an occasional tweak, which is so much better. It does still hurt at times (the back of my calves is always torturous), but I'm much less inclined to down tools and shave instead, which is what usually happened with my old epilator.

Of course, this does mean that overall the performance isn't totally flawless, and you do have to go over some areas several times to make sure you've got all the hairs. Thankfully this epilator has a brilliant light on the on-switch. Such a simple idea, but so useful. (Actually it could have been made even better if you could turn on the light, without turning on...
