A little awkward but very effective!, 4 Nov. 2014

I had read/watched a number of reviews on this product online. Most of them are very positive and so I decided to buy it and see whether it's as good as most people say. I've had waxes done before and although they aren't too expensive, I've found I can't really justify that kind of expense, especially when it never lasts that long before my hair starts growing back!

Starting off with heating the wax: I don't know if I'm just being stupid but mine didn't come with instructions on how long to heat the product for (or at least I couldn't see it). I found this information online and started by heating the wax with the lid off for 45 seconds, before then mixing it. The outside of the wax stays harder than the centre so I found I had to then heat it in 15 second intervals until I had reached about 1 minute 30 seconds.

Heating it was easy and I was careful when stirring, so don't let the reviews below put you off - just be extra careful. I made sure I tested the wax on...

This is by far the best home wax kit I have purchased and I have tried everything on the market over the years! Does not hurt as it doesn't stick to the skin. Easy to use, but in order to use this effectively you must purchase the Gigi pre-epilation oil as you must apply this to the area prior to putting on the wax otherwise it can be panful to remove - They do not always state this. Definitely worth the money, after years of going to the salon this product has converted me to do it myself! Amazing product.

Second degree burns - be VERY careful, 10 Jan. 2014

First of all, I have to say that it is not exactly fair to give this item just one star. Honestly, I can't review its efficiency on the removal of hair, because I didn't get to actually use it. The first time I was going to use it I started heating it up in the microwave. First, I heated it for 30 seconds. I hit with a spatula and saw that it was still very hard. I added 30 extra seconds, and it was still hard. Even though the instructions said not to heat it for more than one minute, as it was still hard (or so I thought), I added another 30 seconds. Then, when I hit the wax with the spatula, the part on the top was hard but the part on the middle and bottom were liquid and very hot - which I found out the hard way. The top and hard part broke when I put the spatula inside the wax (I must have hit it kind of hard), and the hot liquid wax spilled on my hand, my thigh and by stomach.
