I bought these tins for my boys to keep their trinkets and gadget in safe. I wanted a tin that had a hinge and a fairly secure fastening. This has a hinge and when the lid is closed it feels fairly solid. It's not a clasp buckle or anything like that but it does stay firmly shut and can take being dropped before it'll open a few times.

It came wrapped in software wrap material which actually comes in handy because I used it to line the interior of the tin to reduce the amount of noise the tin makes when it has hard contents inside. Obviously not a permanent solution but it does help in the short term. It's about the same size as a standard autobiography book.

The only complaint I have is quite minor and that over time the design will get scuffed and rubbed. Some might like the appearance of age that this generates and it does kind of suit the typography used on the lid.

All in all it's a nice tin. Perfect for kids to keep their most treasured items...

I love these tins, 8 Aug. 2014

I love these tins, they are so nice and a bit different, got for Xmas presents and they arrived when they said they would and we'll packed, would recommend and I will probably buy more!

Bought as a stocking filler (didn't fit in the stocking but the thought still counts), very nice quality, boyfriend uses it to put his everyday stuff in that was cluttering up the place. Looks much better than a drawer/table full of odds and ends. I think it's perfect for children or nerdy men!
