Beautiful and Mesmerizing, 20 July 2015

The Light Up Lagoon Activity Gym from Bright Starts is one of the nicest baby gyms I have seen and it is truly beautiful. I have attached a video of the gym with this review along with a few still photo's at the end and one of which has my 3 year old lying underneath the gym as he didn't want to miss out on the lights! I have included it purely to show the length of the activity gym and that barring your baby losing interest that this gym should last them quite a while.

The activity gym is suitable from newborn and has a little head hugger pillow which can also be used as a tummy time pillow when your baby gets bigger. The gym is beautifully designed in blues and greens to represent a calming lagoon and the overhead arch/canopy also has hanging toys and bright glow-worms/fire fly's patterned on the canopy in addition to the lights.

The best light-show baby gym I've seen, excellent sounds and music too, 30 July 2015

I really like this baby gym, it's nicely made and a decent size.

The light show is the real show-stopper of course and the main reason most people will buy this gym, I think. The lights are bright, even in a well-lit living room, but are far better in a dimly lit environment, when they become quite immersive and put my son into a bit of a trace actually!

The music is brilliant compared to some of the other baby gyms/bouncing seats we've tried. It's actually got some decent melodies and quite upbeat, pacey little tunes, and it's not too irritating, and I love the nature sounds too. 5 stars for the sounds and lights alone, I'd say.

The canopy is easy to assemble and sturdy, with little hidden bracing struts to hold the canopy taut, and the fabric used is sort of translucent so when the light show is running, the whole canopy seems to sort of glow with the different colours. Excellent, well thought-out, and very pleasant for both the baby and the parents, 22 July 2015

Prior to getting this, we had a similarly-priced product from Fisher Price. Now that we’ve got this, the Fisher Price one is boxed up. Our baby clearly prefers this one, and so do we.

The colours are bright, without being offensive. There’s enough contrast in the artwork for a baby to latch on to- I’ve seen other products which are too pastel-heavy which means that a largely colour-blind baby doesn’t know what it’s meant to be looking at, but that’s no problem here.

The feet of the arch are made of quite heavy plastic. It’s heavier than you’d think, and has been deliberately weighted down. This does make it slightly harder to carry it with one hand (obviously you should never carry it with the baby in it- I mean carrying the baby in one hand and this activity gym in the other), but on the other hand it does mean that when you put it down, it stays put.
