Much missed toy after pegs disintegrated, 20 Nov. 2010
I admit I'm about to buy another one of these. The pegs fit really well, so they offer a lot of satisfying banging. The base is easily reversible, and it's all very tactile. The problem comes after your child has successfully banged the pegs for a year or more: the pegs, being plastic, just disintegrate.Because my son is now 3, I will buy another one of these. I know they work, and I don't expect him to want to play with it after another couple of years.However, if you're looking for a durable toy to last for several years, for several children, then I would consider wood instead of plastic.
