Good safety addition for Isofix and NON-Isofix cars, 8 July 2012

It's really easy to fit the top tether kit once you know how. There's a really good video on you tube - just search for "How to fit the Duo Plus Top Tether".

I agree that the kit might seem unnecessary on an ISOFIX car (fits rock solid in our Mazda RX-8) but the tether is definitely worthwhile when installing in a non-ISOFIX car (like our Mini Cooper).

The Britax Duo Plus has anchor points for the tether strap and so you should only buy this kit if you have this seat. At the other end of the strap (the end that connects to your car) is just a hook so it'll fit in any car with a suitable anchor point on the floor of your boot. We've had the seat in five different cars (Mazda, Mini, Audi, Toyota, and Volvo) and found the the tether kit fitted in all of them and was far more useful in the NON-isofix cars giving a much tighter fit.

Excellent Safty Feature but nightmare to fit., 14 Oct. 2013

I'm glad we have brought this to go with our Duo Plus seat as with out it, it still had a lot of movement.The ends that fit into the back of the seat are very tight and I can't see me ever getting them back out again without taking the seat apart.The hook that fits to the back of the car seat it's self needs hammering back out (we have a 2012 meriva) so moving the seat with the tethering strap from one car to another is never going to be a quick job but in all I know the seat is extremely safe and secure.
