I recently had the chance to test this Britax booster seat at a recent Baby Event that I attended albeit without testing the booster with a child but this gave me opportunity to really look and compare it with other booster seats at the event.
The booster seat can either be used with just the seatbelt as a non permanent anchorage point in the car or can be attached in a more permanent fitting until unattached by using your car's ISOFIX points if you have them (all newer cars tend to now have these fitted as standard). This therefore means that the seat is suitable and will fit all cars. There is a full instructional video on Britax's own website which shows how to fit the booster seat using the ISOFIX points in your car and it is really simple to do and gives that extra piece of mind that the seat is secured to the car and your child is secured to the seat with the seat belt. There are even green indicators to show that you have fitted the seat correctly.

Having had the opportunity to get hands on with the Britax KidFix XP at a recent event, it was great to be able to compare side by side - albeit without a child to lift in & out OR within the confines of a car. This did however let me focus on the real differences in size, usability, fabric, installation methods & the like.
Summary: The KidFix XP is the middle spec seat available in the XP range. For children between 15-36kg / 4 - 12yrs With ISOFIX or seatbelt fixing, it's a forward only facing seat using the cars seatbelt system to secure the child & with a variable angle for sleep / sitting during journeys. Compared to the other two seats in the Kid XP range, the XP doesn't have the adjustable & repositionable side impact protection (movable depending on the side of the car it is installed in) of the SICT but DOES have ISOFIX fitting compared to the Kid XP
With attention to detail in the overall design, features like the back shape, installation indicators to...

When it comes to car seats, the one thing you don't compromise on is safety. You might think you're getting a bargain, but never buy a second hand one from a boot fair. Avoid like the plague and only buy new. With this in mind, it's worth noting that there a multitude of choices out there split into four groups, 0/1/2 and 3 with the numbers denoting suitability for weight. A 0 seat is up to about 221bs (10kg), 1 goes to around 40lbs (18kg) and a 2/3 seat has a maximum of 5½ (36kg).
Britax has a plethora of seats suitable from newborn up to that maximum allowed. This is the Kidfix XP in group 2/3 (15kg - 36kg). The XP denotes it has eXtra Protection, of which more later.
Available in four fabric trims, black thunder, chili pepper, cool berry and smart zebra, this particular seat uses the ISOFIT system, which uses the same 'alligator type' metal clips as an ISOFIX seat to secure the seat in your car. (Bear in mind, that unless your car is equipped with ISOFIX, the...
