I don't trust the readings, my daughter clearly is not well and feels very hot. I checked her temperature and it said she was fine. I used a different thermometer and she has a temp of 39 Celsius. Although the thermometer is very clever looking and seems like a good piece of technology, it is not fit for purpose.I am going to order a new one straight away.

NO backlight - incorrect Amazon description, 1 April 2015
While the thermometer itself seems ok for a basic digital thermometer, it does not have an "automatic backlight" asmentioned in amazon's description.There is no mention of one for the product on the Brother Max website. Only the 3-in-1 has it, not this one. The other seller for this product has completely the wrong description up and describes the non-contact version of the thermometer which is more expensive. This version only does degrees C.I usually try taking both forehead and ear temp as they are generally .5 degrees C out from each other. I also find that for first reading (on the ear usually) will be a degree or more lower than a second Or third reading taken a minute later. So not sure of the accuracy of the thermometer either. Haven't got anything to compare it with to check it though.If you are thinking of buying this I suggest checking out the description on the Brother Max website rather than relying on the description on Amazon.
