This floor seat has many advantages over other similar products for sale, I find it is much better than the original Bumbo in that it has much wider leg holes (my daughter has very chubby thighs bless her and at 4 months looks very uncomfortable in the ordinary Bumbo).

You can also remove the insert on this one for when they do finally get too big for it, which means the longevity of this item is fantastic. The straps snap away in to the seat, which is an advantage over other seats I have seen that when being used on the floor just have straps messily strewn around them with no home, (I am a neat freak so that really drives me mad) but with this seat all is neat and tidy at all times. Likewise with the tray - it slots easily in to the back when not in use.

The belts mean my daughter seems really secure in it, and the straps to attach it to dining chairs are really sturdy, once its on the chair it can be fastened really securely. Another thing which makes this...

I love these kind of seats as they take up far less room than high chairs and are easy to clean. They attach well to chairs with the buggy type straps going around the base and back of standard chairs. The only thing you have to watch out for is little ones pushing themselves backwards off the table edge with their feet. Make sure they are wedged in by a wall behind them or similar.

I currently use the Fisher Price Healthy care seat which is very similar to this but 5 stars by comparison because the tray is at least twice as big and with a deeper rim so the food, bowls, cutlery etc don't slide off as with this tiny shallow tray. It's just not practical for weaning or for toddlers meals. Or painting or playing. The back on my chair is higher too - at least twice as high, giving more support and has a lower, more comfortable bump that goes between the legs. This has a solid, plastic, hard pillar which may prove more and more uncomfortable as your child grows.

Great update on original Bumbo, 19 Sept. 2015

This is a great improvement over the original Bumbo which my children can get out of! This is a versatile small chair/booster seat with many options for how you use it. You can use it with or without tray and it has straps for attaching it to a larger chair which tuck away when not needed.It is very sturdy, it's great for mealtime either used on its own on the floor or on a chair - handy for restaurants and travel too as very small. It has adjustable height and is a very well thought out product.Available in a few different colours, the Aqua is a nice colour - similar to our original Bumbo and is getting daily use! Nice and strong and sturdy - it resists tipping over when on the floor even with my Houdini son doing his best to get out of it at times during eating!All in all a really handy chair that can be used from baby through to toddler, recommended!
