Essential piece of kit, 24 Oct. 2007

Oh how I wish these were about when my previous three babies were born!

This is one of those pieces of equipment that you buy and think ''hmmm, a bit pricey, and the baby will grow out of it so quickly'' .

However, I have found, so far, that it has been worth every pound spent. It is just perfect for early weaning for that really awkward stage when your baby is too young to sit in a high chair and too big to be fed in the crook of your arm.

It really does free your hands and makes feeding a cynch.

It is also great for letting baby sit and watch you going about your business. I also put a baby gym in front of mine and she sits and happily bashes away at the toys. It is also brilliant to take out and about so the baby has somewhere safe, clean and suitable to sit wherever you are.

To me, the baby is safe and secure. I can't see, at this stage (5 months) how she can possibly fall out of it, although I can see that an older baby could...

Thank god for Bumbo, 23 Feb. 2012

Back in 2002 when I had my first child the Bumbo was something of a new idea within the realms of baby products. My mum bought one for my son as a way of giving him a new perspective on the world by being enabling to sit up on his own without having to be held my a grownup. He took to it straight away and was delighted that he was able to sit up (without actually being able to sit up) .

Ten years later and having had baby no 3 a few months ago I have just purchased from Amazon another one of these marvellous items from Amazon. I have no doubt that my daughter will love hers just as much as her siblings. Shes a dreadful "klingon" just like her sibling and Im sure that she will be happy to sit in it, going from room to room whilst I do various jobs in the house. There are comparable items out there on the market such as a similar product from Mamas and Papas but Ive decided to return the original and in my opinion the best early baby seat.

We loved our Bumbo, 3 Mar. 2010

We loved our bumbo and my son (who is an active baby) used it from 4 - 12 months. We tended to put it in the bathroom and used to put him in it while he was waiting for his bath and he loved using it and playing with all his toys while we were getting his bath ready. I also used it to feed him in it a few times which was quite handy - though after he was around 10 months old he wouldn't eat in it and just wanted to get out and crawl around. This product is most useful I think for when your baby can't sit unaided but is old enough not to be on their back - 4 months to around 9 months. We are definitely going to use it for the next one too!
