My son has autism & will not get his hair cut. We have had hairdressers & barbers refuse to even go near him as he is so distressed. Since then myself & his Grannie usually cut wee bits of here & there when his mind is on something else. Yes it wasn't plain sailing & it took me two attempts to get all his hair cut, as he hates the hair falling on him & doesn't really like you to touch his hair. Early days with using this product, 20 Aug. 2015

Have a 17 year son with Down syndrome and severe autism and he hates his hair being cut, he's had a rotten haircut for years as I'm rubbish at it! I have to cut his hair in the bath and he doesn't stay still, fussing and getting his hands in the way and messing up his hair every time I cut it so I can't see what it looks like. I've been using a thinning comb and them trimming the edges - if he lets me. The first problem for me was you have the use the clippers from one side, due to the design, and unfortunately it's the opposite side from where I'm standing at the side of the bath, did a few awkward cuts upside down then resorted to the thinning comb, then my son turned sideways in the bath so he was sitting facing me which made it easier to use the clippers, still had to cut sort of upside down though. As yet haven't developed a technique, as such, with them but his hair is shorter and he was ok with letting me do it, the scissors were nice and sharp and used the no 6 comb. So far,...

Brilliant tool for sensory problems, 3 Aug. 2015

Brilliant tool for sensory problems. Didn't work for us as my son has severe sensory issues where he cannot with stand the touch. Hopefully he will get used to them. We tried to cut his hair with them yesterday and they were fast but not fast enough he was in a strong meltdown by the third snip so we had to use the clippers anyway which I guess everyone on here knows how more stressful that became. I really do wish he warms up to them as I know he's terrified of the clippers. So yesterday we ended up with a hot sweaty upset boy with a mouth full of hair. Wish me luck for next time :)
