Having young children in the house means you always have to be ready for them getting infections, fevers, colds etc. You have to be ready for all contingencies.

Thus far, I have always used a normal thermometer but now had the chance to try a more reliable digital one.

It arrived well packaged, in a case that will keep it safely and securely stored away. A clear set of detailed instructions explains carefully and methodically how to use the thermometer (for oral, underarm and rectal readings) and how to get the best out of it. It looks great too in a lime green and white combination and is extremely light too, but strong and sturdy at the same time.

This model from 'California Basics' is so intuitive and easy to use, which pleasantly surprised me. Arrived in its own box with instructions, and the thermometer coming in its’s own hard plastic case for storage and protection

The thermometer is very easy to use, simply pressing the button to turn on, place on/in body for reading then wait for the beep.

It registers a reading quickly and is very clear to read on the LCD digital display.

I do have a short time frame to review these item which means that I cannot provide details of the long term benefits of a product but will always try to give as much information in terms of my initial experience or impression of the product

The readings are said to be clinically accurate. Each thermometer comes with its own protective case. I found the LCD display to be large and very easy to read. It’s a single step process. Turn on, position the thermometer where you are taking the reading (eg the mouth). Wait for the beep and take the reading (he thermometer beeps when the reading is ready to be taken.) On its first use, I gave the tip wash with a mild antiseptic hand wash.

It provides both Fahrenheit and Celsius readings and has a backlit LED display which is definitely very useful.

The thermometer comes with a satisfaction guarantee which is always reassuring. It also has a ‘fever’ alarm if readings are of concern. I’ve not had cause to trigger this to hear what it’s like but it no doubt be a helpful prompt for a parent unsure if a temperature reading is a concern.
