My 12 month old son doesn't have problems settling himself but we wanted some musical toy for bedtime anyway. This is miles better than the musical mobile we bought him from birth, he loves this teddy and he switches it off or on himself. It has different brightness settings so you can leave the teddy in his/her cot without the worry of damaging the eyes.The tunes are all classical piano based (at first I thought they were quite spooky tunes, but I've grown to like them) which is a nice break from the standard nursery rhymes you find in pretty much all other standard products.
