I bought this nightlight for my just turned 3 year old boy as I wanted a comforting light that he could turn on and off himself without having to touch plugs etc. it looks so cute hanging on the side of his cotbed. He knows not to touch the strap but I would be worried about a younger child pulling this off as the strap could fit round a baby's neck. Having said this the Velcro is very strong but maybe a plastic hanging device that other consider activity centres have would be better. My son loves this item. We put the music and lights on when he first gets in bed, then he turns it to just the light which fades on and off, then when he is ready to fall asleep he turns it off completely. It has become part of his bedtime routine. The button is chunky and easy for him to use. The strap could be made more secure by stitching it into place once hung on the cot. The other thing is that the second song is almost lively!!! Certainly not sleeping music. My 5 year old daughter and my son climb...

We already have one of these for our 3 year old and she's loved it since she was 2.5 months old so we couldn't wait to get one for our new daughter. However, this one is quieter, faster and when the batteries are running out instead of just slowing down to an eventual stop, it starts getting stuck and sounds like a broken record. We couldn't be bothered to send it back as we had already done so with a previous faulty one (different buyer) so we will put up with it. The batteries don't last long either, and we use the same rechargeable ones in our other daughters one. Kind of wish we'd paid more in Boots, but then it could just be the design these days. It arrived promptly which was good.
