Use it for our dog instead and it has more than done the job, 10 Aug. 2017
We use this as an extra security measure on our dog's extendable leash as she is prone to running after other animals and pulls out of our hands. It has really done the job and if it can keep an excited golden retriever from escaping I'm sure it can do it for a child as well. I will mention that I'm not sure how securely it will wrap around a child's wrist though, as we knot it around the leash and then slip the other end around our wrist.
