I have a few products from ClearZal and have found them to work well. I came across the pain relieving gel and thought I would try this one as well.
I didn't want to be slipping and a sliding around so after my shower I sat on the bed and put a blob of gel on my foot, rubbed it in and then put a sock on, swapped feet and did the same. The gel is not thick; it’s a bit watery when you start to rub it in.
The gel has a very strong smell to it and made my eyes water, so after putting on the other sock I went to wash my hands. Its not greasy after you finished rubbing it in, its lovely to rub into your feet.
Once I had washed my hands I was free of the smell, which is nice but stings my eyes.

Having long term problems with both a knee and the opposite foot, I much prefer to use pain relieving gels than taking lots of pain relieving tablets. I'll start rattling soon!! I tried this both on my right knee and my left foot. I'm not sure why it's highlighted for legs and feet as I think it would work equally well on other areas of the body, for example back pain or wrist.
On first use you notice the strong aroma. It's a bit like a deep heat muscle rub, which is probably using the same ingredients. I know that all muscle rubs state in their instructions that you should wash your hands after using, but for this one you really DO need to wash your hands, just to try and get rid of the strong smell.

The details on the tube describe's this as a gel and it is but it is quite a thin, watery pale blue see through gel. This means it's not sticky when or after you apply it which is great. It soaks in to the skin very quickly leaving virtually no residue. Because the consistency of the gel is quite thin I found I had to be very careful indeed to make sure the lid was securely shut on the tube otherwise a watery liquid seeps out from the tube. Pressing the lid of the tube shut is not enough to stop this, I found once I'd closed the tube the easiest way to make sure it was fully shut was to bang it down firmly on to a hard surface.
However for me the most important thing was whether the product actually did what it says, i.e would it relieve the pain I suffer in my feet due to arthritis?
