A good idea, and works well to hide away the sockets - however there are some things to be aware of before purchasing.1. Access is required to the edges of the box to open it - we have a few places where we have 2 sockets immediately next to each other and this makes opening them very fiddly - the best way I have found is to use a screwdriver to slip between the boxes to press the catch.2. The socket face-plate will be moved further away fro the wall. It is only by a few mm, but I did have to replace a number of the fixing screws with longer ones which required a trip to B&Q3. Adapters will not fit in the boxes - I have had to find new places to plug in things such as our cordless telephone, wireless router etc as they they have a DC adapter plug which is too large to fit into the box.All-in-all a good idea, and does feel a lot safer, but these are not without their own difficulties.

This plug socket protector will stop little fingers being pushed into sockets and / or plugs being turned on and off.

We bought this because our one year old thinks that it is hilarious to turn the sky box and television plugs on and off. We were not quite so amused. It was very irritating and try as we would to stop her and tell her not to, she continued doing it.

In use, the protector is easy to fit. You simply need to unscrew the outside of the socket slightly (you don't need to entirely remove it), and the slide this in. It looked very large on our sockets, but it is designed to fit all sizes, including larger versions. When you have slid this contraption in, you simply need to tighten the two screws back up again.

The toddler definitely can't open and close this - when she first noticed it, it resulted in wails and upset! We had ruined her fun.... Tee hee..... It is slightly stiff for me to open and close, but that's fine as I would rather it was...
