Its a nightmare to open. I have ended up sellotaping the bottom catch up as it was too hard! It makes a loud clang waking the baby unless i ease it shut and though it does swing to it doesnt actually swing CLOSED and safe all the time, in fact only 50% of the time.
It says quite clearly on the description that it is pressure mounted, which i wanted as I am selling the house soon and i didnt want to be drilling holes, not to mention the fact that i dont know how, so when it came and the instructions say you need to drill it in the wall as well I could have screamed!
I deliberately paid a lot more money to get a gate that was pressure mounted and had a self close safety feature as the one time my mum forgot to close our other gate the baby fell down the stairs!! This product failed on both counts.
Also it says you have to tighten one side more than the other to get the catches level. Its near impossible to do without making the gate totally loose on...
