Super Soft Edge Guard is a 2m length of protective, impact absorbing material which can be cut to any desired length, and used on the sharp edges of tables, shelves, and fireplace hearths. It comes complete with self adhesive fixing tape, and can be used in conjunction with Super Soft Corner Cushions.

Bought this to put on the sharp edge of a shelf, which is above a sofa and caused some nasty head bashes to adults. This does exactly what I wanted. It gives a good, quite chunky, cushion to the edge of the shelf and the shelf is no longer a hazard. So far it is adhering well to the shelf, which is painted in gloss. It isn't exactly pretty, but worth it for the protection it provides.

Yes it can be a little fiddly putting on the double sided sticky tape. For me, it harks me back to watching Blue Peter and I hear Janet Ellis and her little rabbit voice every time I attach a piece. Makes me hanker for an egg carton or a clean washing up liquid bottle cut in half.Anyway, this stuff is great. I tested it after putting it on my rather sharp edged marble mantle fireplace surround by throwing my head at it. Quite a pleasant soft thunk rather than my brains dashing out over the fireplace.All was proved even further this week a few months after fixing it when my child who can now stand and sit herself for some reason lost her balance when standing and fell towards the fireplace and her head 'dunted' right off the edge. I leapt toward her ready with a hug and calming shoooshes but she just looked up and laughed it had been such a soft landing.

Perfect alternative to a fire guard in the summer months, 20 Jun. 2014
Could do with being 15cm longer to fit all the way round a hearth. It's been in place for a couple of weeks now and is withstanding the test of a 9month old trying to pull it off. Certainly does what it says on the tin and since it's summer, the fire won't be on so I don't want my lounge being taken over by a fire guard.Wish they did this in white / kind of oak colour so I could use it on the edges of the furniture!
