COLOUR RESTORE COOL ASH TONER - By Scott Cornwall This ash based hair toner is designed for mid blonde and brunette depths and is particularly effective at creating ultra-ash tones in highlights in addition to its primary purpose of removing unwanted rusty, copper and orange tones in coloured hair. Developed by hair expert Scott Cornwall, the product is a multi-use item and has a high conditioning base, designed to hydrate the hair as it deposits the colour molecule and neutralises unwanted warm and copper tones. Simple to use, apply as you would a regular conditioner and leave on the hair for up to 20 minutes to neutralise unwanted warmth and create cool hair colour effects. Contains:- No Peroxide No Ammonia No PPD's High conditioning base for hydration and repair In addition, the product can be used immediately after permanent colouring or lightening. If used on very light or bleached blonde hair the item will produce a Metallic Silver Blonde. Due to the high pigment concentration, one tube of 100ml is suitable for multiple applications. Subtle maintenance, rather than vibrant toner, 1 Feb. 2016

I have light (bleached) blonde mid-ends with several inches of natural dark brown roots. I bought this toner in the hope that it would help balance out the difference between the two shades without the need for a dye. I'm natually fairly neutral/ashy toned, and ideally I wanted this toner to emphasise that.

I started by using a clarifying shampoo and then Scott Cornwall's own Pre-Colour Clarifying Treatment, before applying the Ash Colour Restore via the 3rd method advised by the instructions, which is to apply a small amount of the toner to the hair and comb it through for 5 minutes, leave for 20 minutes and then rinse, without conditioning.

I was surprised by the light colour of the toner. The bottle had made me believe it was to be a very deep purple shade, but instead it was a lighter grey purple. It goes on very easily, like a conditioner.

Upon washing out and drying, I partially ignored the instructions not to condition, by lightly spritzing on...

Hairdresser messed up my colour and it's too warm/auburn. They've offered to use toners to correct it but I don't want to keep going back. So thought I'd found the answer with this. Thought I'd done it wrong the first time and not applied enough as it made no difference. I used baby shampoo like it suggested. So second time I bought a clarifying shampoo (another £10 spent) and I put more 'colour' on and left it for longer. Still made no difference. So the third time, clarified my hair, put the rest of the tube of stuff on and left it for 40 minutes. Guess what? Still absolutely no change to my hair colour at all. Has to be one of the most useless products I've ever bought.

and I must confess to you guys that this toner is useless. The worst £12 spent in my life, 20 Aug. 2015
I paid £11.99 for this product today as I have orangey colour after bleaching my brown hair and also have some blondish highlights, and I must confess to you guys that this toner is useless. The worst £12 spent in my life.Don't buy it! It does nothing but work as a conditioner nothing else.
