This is a lovely item, I bought it for my new granddaughter and her mum was very pleased with it. I liked the colour, size and the little applique very much. I also liked the fact that it is large enough to be used as a cot cover when out of use as a shawl. It looked more expensive than it was I makes a great present. Cannot comment on how it washed except that it can be machine washed which is a must for a new mother
