We bought this bed for our two year old as he was moving out of his cot. He took to it immediately as he's a big Lightning McQueen fan.

It's a toddler bed - takes a cot/bed mattress - which suited us as our son is in a small bedroom.

The bedside table is perfect for holding his water cup and putting a monitor or night light on and the under bed storage boxes included are also very handy, for storing spare bedding (but they're a bit flimsy, so nothing heavy). The design is good - no fear of him falling out past the raised rail (and he moves a lot in his sleep) but he can get out of it just fine himself when he wakes up.

I found it very easy to put together myself although the two side supports do not screw well to the frame - on both sides the screws ended up threading the MDF. It's pretty sturdy MDF I think, although I'm careful not to put any of my own weight on it for fear of breaking a slat. I'll sit on the edge, but that's about it

Excellent Bed with a solid build, 18 Aug. 2014
Excellent item. I was expecting (for the price) something a little bit lightweight but it is far from that. The boards below are solid MDF boards and can easily take the weight of me so I can now sit on the bed while reading together now. The whole bed is your standard wood with vinyl coating which means EVERYTHING is wipe clean. The tray is thick platic and is coping very well with the abuse and trantrums of a 3yo. The under storage is a little bit tricky as the handle are on the side to pull them out which you can't grab when they are under the bed but being frabric you can just grab somewhere else. Assembly was actualy far easier than the previous (far more expensive) bed he had and as I said is also solidAnd most importantly, it's CARS so absolutely loved by my son.
