I'm pleased with this item, I live in a rented house where I can't drill or screw into walls or banisters so I was looking for pressure-mounted stairgates which would fit a 1 metre width staircase. I also needed it to be extra tall as it has to go on the floor level and not the first step. This is perfect. There are plastic cups which do stick onto the wall/banister on either side with a double-sided sticky pad, but I am pretty confident I'll be able to remove these and leave no lasting damage/evidence when we move out.Although fitting is easy, it's a lot easier with two people, so that you can get all four corners lined up straight at the same time.The installed item seems sturdy and it looks good in black as our banisters are dark wood.

The gate arrived promptly and was easy to install at the foot of stairs. The gate looks good and is easy to use. However the button for releasing the catch has become stiff to use and the catch itself is really small and quite fragile. A great product but company needs to review the catch system.

Bought for my dog home boarding and day care business, the gate fitted easily and works well. It is much taller than a standard gate so should deter even the most enthusiastic jumper. Looks smart in black.Wider than a normal gate to fit across a hallway, it was perfect for our hall without buying extensions. It would, however, be nice to be able to disconnect the auto closing feature (not easy to get shopping through when you have to continually open the gate!)The plastic pins do look a little fragile but if the gate is lifted before trying to open then it should be fine. Even if the pins do break, the get is held by a sturdier lug at the bottom of the gate so it will still function.
