Dryer balls shouldn't be revolutionary, but these really are.

The story: Hard water, new tumble dryer that's located right by the living room = heinous noise when conventional plastic dryer balls were used--which dented the drum horribly in just two dryer loads. Laundry came out with lots of static.

The product: Wool balls. Upon arrival = these are really rather cute. Lightweight, too, but nicely dense. Minimalist eco-packaging (cotton sack).

The verdict: No more horrible noise (akin to throwing rocks into a metal pan); in fact, no added noise at all over the standard dryer noise. Fluffier laundry than with conventional dryer balls and, impressively, less static. Doubly impressive: They actually cut down on the drying time compared to conventional dryer balls! Wasn't expecting that based on some of the reviews, but I noticed that I was taking the laundry out 15-20 minutes sooner each time. Excellent, excellent product.

For now we use them...

I've not had a lot of chance to use these as the weather has been so good recently. However for the couple of loads I did use them for they very much reduced the drying time and helped soften the load of towels more than normal even in my sensor dryer. I am looking forward to using much more over the winter and being able to stop using softening sheets, and saving on my electric bills

Simple and very effective. I use my dryer ALOT and these balls have reduced my drying time by 25% on a heavy load and 35-40% on a light load. Was slightly worried that the balls would deteriorate being used so much but, so far have stood up really well to their heavy use and show absolutely no wear and tear. Great product.
