east coast high chair - brilliant!, 8 Mar. 2009
The chair looks really nice, no bright and gourdy plastic so fits in nicely with the kitchen/dining room.Fitted together easily enough and seems really solid. As well as been much better value than the 'trip-trap' of similar design, I actually prefer this one!Simple wooden tray is easy to clean (no grooves, compartments etc.)We had to buy a seat cushion type thingymajig because our six month old is develpoping a laid-back slouching approach to weening, but apart from that the chair is great and I would highly recommend it to anyone - save yourselves the hassle of looking any further and just buy the East Coast. It should last a long time and as it doesn't look babyish, our baby is less likely to grow up and refuse to sit in it in a couple of years time. Great purchase!

Good, lasts well. Better for children than babies, 23 April 2014

I'd recommend this chair for anyone who expects to supervise their baby in it!

On the up side

It's very sturdy, and ours is still in daily use as a chair by adults and children 8 years on. It's so comfortable it gets the most use of any of our chairs. It's had a lot of abuse in that time, including being used by adults after having some of the bolts removed by inquisitive children. Somehow, it's in one piece after all of that.

It looks good, is reasonably easy to clean (not perfect), and is easy to adjust and assemble

The negatives

The straps aren't great - they only attach at the base so it is easy for a child to wriggle their shoulders free.

It is possible for a child who is trying to escape to wriggle down the gap at the side.

Without cushioning, babies can easily tilt sideways so it is not suitable for young babies who cannot sit up straight.

Dried on cereal is tough to remove as it goes into the crevices at the edge of the...

Great chair for older baby., 12 July 2011
Very sturdy chair and easy to keep clean. Downside is that the tray does not move and babys tummy can get stuck whilst getting him in and out. Hard to get him into when he refuses to bend his legs.
