Solid quality way to implement timeout, 30 Jun. 2014

The timeout step/chair is a well known technique for teaching younger children right from wrong as an alternative to the now frowned upon older methods of punishment.

As we only have the stairs located in the living room implementing this is somewhat difficult as its right in the centre of the house. So this is an ideal specific piece of furniture for implementing timeout in an area of the house more suited to the "cool down" required.

Colourfully decorated in friendly animals and colours it visually appeals to children. I'm not sold on it being so friendly looking as this seems a little at odds to the concept of the "punishment" of being made to sit quietly I can understand that it makes it visually less threatening.

The chair itself is of fantastic quality with an excellent smooth painted finish. The chair comes in just 5 pieces and contains just 10 screws all of the same type. Construction is very simple and took me no more than 5...

A good quality, sturdy little chair, 3 Aug. 2014

This is a pretty little chair in a floral 'crackle' design. It is very sturdy (heavier than I expected) and seems as though it will withstand quite a lot of wear. The assembly is very simple and it didn't take me more than a few minutes to put together. It is a good-quality, sturdy chair and it is nice to see that Teamson do other products in the same range, e.g. a Crackle Finish toy chest, to create a matching set of nursery or playroom furniture.

This chair is adorable. It is beautifully painted and very easy to put together. It is robust and easy to clean. The seat height is perfect for the new toddler to get on and off on their own (many are too high). The depth of the seat is perfect for those short legs too meaning that they can sit up on it properly with their backs against the back rest without their legs sticking straight out. The chair is heavy and stable enough not to tip but not so heavy that my 14 month grandaughter cant move it.Do not be put off by the words 'Time Out' on the back of the Chair. This does not mean it has to be used as a tool for discipline ie 'naughty chair' - 'Time out' can simply be resting time (eg reading / playing up to table) or time that a toddler can recover control - its a matter of perspective and application.
