When my mum comes to stay she brings her gorgeous little cavashon dog with her. We don't like her going upstairs so put her in our downstairs bathroom with a gate on (the dog, not my mum :) )We were previously using a normal baby gate which was a pain to take off and put on all the time, so it tended to stay on and get in the way. After banging my knee on it one morning I decided enough was enough.

I originally looked at retractable baby gates but they were all over £40 which I wasn't willing to pay for occasional use. When I saw this gate I was a little uncertain incase it would be flimsy after reading the review where the dog ate through it-eek. However, for £17.65 delivered I thought it was worth a punt.

The gate comes in a box all in one piece which I was relieved to see. It also came with screws and wall attachments.

I asked my husband to fit it who is a real perfectionist and takes so...long to do things. He had this up within an hour which is great!!

This pet gate is an absolute bargain. It looks great in the doorways...far better than the metal ones and is sturdy enough to take the pounding my pugs give it when I come home. The pin and loop catch idea makes it far easier to open than the metal pet gates and you can open it with one hand. The wood it is made of is solid and beautifully finished. Installing it took roughly 10 minutes and was really simple. The way it folds neatly back against the doorframe when not in use is absolutely genius. Definitely worth every penny and would recommend any dog owner to try it out.

Not dog proof!, 15 April 2016
I thought it was a pretty good product, you do have to secure it both sides so hardly portable. I left my dog 6hrs while I was at work and came home to this.. (see attached photos). Guess I need a metalittle one! 😕
