Should keep a child happy, 25 Aug. 2015

The immediate (adult) reaction on opening this is that it is bright, colourful and well made - very Fisher Price. It requires 2 AA batteries for sound though it could be ridden without that. Not only is there an on-off switch but there are also two volume settings which may be welcomed by some. Otherwise there are the three "age" settings After setting the level there are three buttons which produce different results depending on the level setting. The handlebars come separately and simply click into place.

A just over 1 year old really liked it when he saw it. It didn't take him long to figure out how to make the buttons work at all. As he "drove" around on it we realised that it would probably have been better if actual steering was possible - most houses have quite distinct limits on how far you can travel in a straight line. Minor point but children do love to put things into something and so some storage under the seat would add to his enjoyment...

Another Brilliant Fisher Price Toy, 22 Aug. 2015

This is another brilliant toy from Fisher Price's new Smart Stages range (we have a few smart stages toy's, with the most recent being a

that I just bought my daughter yesterday) which grow with your little one. The Scooter has 3 smart stages which you can change between as your little one gets older with the first stage being aimed at 12-18 months, the second stage being aimed at 18-24 months and the third stage being aimed at 2-3 years. You just simply flip the switch to the appropriate stage as your little one grows and is ready for them and I think this makes the toy something that can be played with for a long time and still be interesting as they are getting older.

The Scooter has an off switch along with two volume settings and was reasonably easy to assemble. There are 3 different buttons for...

Good and bad points, 18 Aug. 2015

We got this scooter for my one-year-old son. He took to it immediately. It has some good points and bad points.

Good points:

* The scooter is lightweight.

* It has neutraland soft colours so would suit a boy or a girl.

* It makes music and sounds whilst he is riding it around.

* There are three different levels that the scooter can be set to (explore, encourage and pretend) which help develop your child as he grows.

* There are a big variety in the sounds it plays (the box says 50+ sing-along songs, tunes and phrases)

* There is a horn button, three other buttons and an ignition key to play with.

* There is a volume switch with three settings (off, medium, full).

* The big wheel at the front makes it very stable.

Bad points:

* 2 x AA battteries were required but not included.

* The seat doesn't open so little objects can't be put inside.

* The handlebars do not move and the wheels do not move to the side...
