It is a really great little toy for a wide age range. Our 4 month old loves watching the pig and hearing all the noises it makes and our 2.5 year old is obsessed with putting the coins into the pig and then getting them to tumble out.
To make the piggy bank make noise all you do is press the snout, something which is almost irresistible to anyone, pig snouts need to be pressed! There is also a switch on the body of the pig which allows you to adjust things depending on the age of the child you wish to entertain so you can help with learning numbers, colours and even words in French. You can also control the volume - a vitally important component of any electronic toy to help retain parental sanity.

I bought this recently to try to help my son with his counting and numbers as although he can count to ten with help, he does get mixed up on his own and the piggy bank does seem to be helping. Both my son and my baby daughter love this piggy bank from Fisher Price and my daughter especially loves playing with it for long periods of time as she loves anything that is repetition based and will fill the Piggy, empty, fill again, empty again, fill again, empty again.... until her big brother comes and insists on ruining her fun by wanting to play too!

This is a lovely large sized piggy bank. It's well designed and finished with an easy opening door which isn't going to trap little ones fingers in it. The edge of the door plastic is also rounded so it's not a sharp edge. The packaging is A1 no hassle either with only two plastic attachments which can be gently turned to release the pigs feet. The competitor TOMY has rotten packaging which actively puts me off buying anything new from them if a similar fisher price item is available and this item knocks the spots of the rather dreadful counting Luke the Loop which we've also got.
The coins are a very large chunky size, much better than till toy coins and easy to insert and handle. There are no missed coins or missed numbers when pushing them in the pig as there's a sturdy mechanism which gives just the right amount of resistance.
The sound, songs and speech are very loud but are only short snippets so it's only mid range for the irritating factor. Although there...
