Lovely little mobile, 21 Feb. 2010

I wanted a brightly coloured animal mobile for our son, not just a bland cream one which most animal ones are. Most of the gendered ones I found for our son were just mobiles with 4 of the same car on them, a bit rubbish! The ones that were not were huge (some of them were half a plastic rainforest suspended over the edge of a cot, he would have been overwhelmed!). This mobile was very easy to put together (and I'm rubbish for it normally!). It is wind up and therefore does not need batteries (my partner thought this was a bad thing, I thought it was a good thing as I prefer the sound of wind up mobiles, so must be personal preference!).I would thoroughly recommend this mobile, especially for the price. We have teamed it with the tomy lightshow yellow star which our son also adores.

We liked this and so did new baby, we thought it was good value for money, well packed and easily put together...not sure that 'Twinkle, Twinkle' will be allowed to play all the time!

If you are looking for a simple non battery powered mobile for a cot/moses basket then this will do the job. Got it for a bugaboo bassinet fixing (which it just about secures to using the two large plastic bolts). The entire unit is made of lightweight plastic, and has sufficient height/clearance to ensure its just out of reach.The wind up mechanism feels solid, and there is a simple on/off switch to keep it off when winding, or turn it off when baby sleeps.The tune we have is 'now i know my abc' which is quite entertaining for our newborn. The animals swing around at a decent pace - though none are black-white contrast (useful for newborn vision).Not bad for the price, and no need for batteries :)
