Really good for curls, 2 May 2011

I hate using non-natural products, and was tryig to use all sort so totally natural home made concoctions to keep my curls curly and defined (flax seeed gel, alow vera gel). I still sue those, but for proper defintiion and hold, without stiffness, flakes or stickiness, this is great. Ingredients are all natural, no parabens that i can see. Really really impressed.PS I have 3a/b curls.

Hard and Frizzy Result, 14 Mar. 2014

My hair type is around 3C. I wanted a gel which would hold the hair in smooth soft coils/curls without any frizz and which didn't dry hard. This product doesn't succeed on two counts. It was successful in helping to form curls, but there were still loads of frizzy hair strands flying around and it was very dry to the touch after the product had dried. My hair felt like straw. I also had to use loads of the product, around 1/4 of the tub in one go, which works out very expensive.It also contains phenoxyethanol (a man-made preservative, used as an alternative to parabens) which is supposed to be safe at ratios of less than 1%, but some websites still caution against it which suggests further research into its safety is needed.
