I bought these on an Amazon lightening deal, with the disposable inserts to go with them. I'm not very happy with them, mainly because they are so small, even though my baby is at the lower weight range they are supposed to cover, they leak a lot because they don't cover enough bum.
The Velcro strips are very close to the baby's skin, and I worry they irritate him.
The disposable inserts are compostable if the nappy is only wet, but my baby doesn't do very many of those as a newborn, so they are mostly going in the bin, and they don't really take up less room then a regular disposable nappy, so I don't see the benefit of using the disposable insert, as it doesn't really impact on my landfill contribution and I also have to wash the outers anyway.
They might be better in the bigger size for an older baby and using cloth inserts instead, but I feel I have spent a fortune on these when I could have spent the same or less on disposable and I don't think I am going to be...
