Superior Newborn Padded Insert, 10 Oct. 2015

I am a long time user and buyer of Britax car seats having purchased, used and loved their Baby-Safe Plus SHR II Infant Carrier with my baby daughter. I haven't used a Graco car seat before now despite having had their Evo Mini and Quattro Tour Duo pushchairs in the past and so I already knew that their pushchairs were great but I really wanted to see what their infant car seats were like. If there were half star markings I would have given the Snugfix a 4.5 star marking and this is purely down to being picky if I am being honest which is why I have marked the infant carrier up to the 5 stars.

My only two picky points (which I'll get out of the way) are that the release catch for taking the car seat off the Isofix base and one of their pushchairs if using one, is located on the back of the seat rather than the easy to use catch on the handle of our old Britax seat and this means using two hands for lifting the infant carrier up. Very impressed, Supportive, secure and sturdy- would recommend with isofix though., 9 Oct. 2015

Overall, this is a lovely deep supportive seat that really cocoons and supports an infant. I've had experience with several brands of car seat (good, bad and ugly) and am pleased with this design that has taken a step forward from the 3 point harness and coupled with an isofix base I would happily use this seat with my baby when they come next year. Graco has really improved on the notorious Snugride with this model.

The leg part of the seat is wider than my daughter's old maxi cosi as it flares out rather than up and in, giving a sense of space to the leg area which may be helpful for parents whose child needs more legroom but hasn't met the height or weight bracket to move up a group. The seat itself feels much more cushioned and comfy and the newborn supports are good firm support yet yielding just enough to give some comfort.

The rubberised handle on the handle/brace is a thoughtful addition especially for those who've carried a baby into weighing clinic in a car...

Rear facing to maximise safety - an excellent car seat that you can trust to keep your new born safe, 7 Oct. 2015

This arrived really quickly and was extremely well packaged. On taking it out of the packaging the car seat is obviously extremely well made which is as I would expect from a Graco car seat. I've been looking at car seats for a while, there's just so many to choose from and I was delighted when this one was offered to me for review.

This car seat is for new-borns up to approximately 18 months. Graco say up to a weight limit of 13kg which would be allowing 3-4 kg more than what is thought to be the normal weight range for 18mths.

The seat is made from very sturdy material - they call it extreme black and I did a spot test on the rear of the seat and it's easily wiped clean. I won't be using it for a little while so had to do my own test rather than wait for a messy accident.

I really like the way there is a detachable liner (head and body pillows) which is soft and so should be very comfortable for new babies and the five point safety harness fills...
