I've never written a product review here but I feel compelled to finally write one. On a trip across the pond last year, my son bought a Platinum XL nose hair trimmer at a chemist in New York. He told me about this great little gadget for trimming nose hair so I went looking in the shops here but I could not find this trimmer anywhere. Finally I found the manufacturer's website and ordered one directly from them, before discovering that the product is sold on amazon in the U.K. I am very happy with this trimmer - it is the best one that I've bought. I don't think that you would be disappointed owning a Groom Mate Platinum XL. Highly recommended. Five stars all the way.

The silent, but efficient hedge trimmer!, 29 Sept. 2007

What an ingenious little device! I've previously used those silly battery operated trimmers, and have all failed in at least one area - most notably getting 'clogged' (is it a man thing?). However, this thing takes simplicity into its own, and provides a great cut!It's pulling factor is that its not mechanical, or battery powered - you simply place it up your hairy cave, and twist the bottom of it. Voila! How does it work? Simple - as you twist the bottom, this turns a set of tiny blades at the top, which work against another set of blades fixed to the trimmer. The result - a simple and 'quick' trim! Whats more, you can wash it!Couldn't be happier! Robustly made (which contrasts most Gillete shaving products, considering their stupid names) and just does the job. What more can I say? No more hairy caves!

If, like me, the mere thought of using anything mechanical to trim nose and ear hair is enough to make your eyes water and your nose run, then help is at hand.

I bought this trimmer because I'm just plain fed-up with the agony of tweezers, but can't quite bring myself to admit that the problem is bad enough to warrant laser hair removal treatments. So, somewhere between the two lies this nifty little gadget which I bought on the strength of the other reviews.

The first thing I did when it arrived was put it in a corner of the bathroom and ignore it for 2 months as the very look of it suggests excruciating agony in operation. Even the descriptions of how it contra-rotates put me off.

Eventually, though, I timidly had a go with it and immediately assumed that it wasn't working very well as I hadn't felt anything. Imagine my surprise then when a quick inspection revealed job done and two nostrils significantly clearer. One minute later and both ears were...
